Sean BalaI'm not so far yet but when my wife has taught me and from what I picked up, I found that the distinction was easier when I wasn't thinking about it too hard. The harder sounds for me are the retroflex sounds where you roll your tongue from the top of your mouth forward as you saw the letter. It is just not a sound we have in English so it is hard to get your tongue around (literally and figuratively).
