@Sherri_Ingrey @KeepTakingTheSoma The "Nightingales" were just Army field hospitals. They were mostly unused because there were no staff to man them.
The Army were also used to jab schoolkids in Liverpool. (This was for an illness which we were told didn't affect children).
It was a civil defence exercise, to normalise us to seeing the Army on the streets in peacetime.
