For that reason, governments continue to hold a monopoly on currency.
And because governments have a monopoly on currencies, merchants will never accept cryptocurrencies until the masses start using it en mass.
Because the masses aren't using cryptocurrencies, merchants aren't going to switch to cryptocurrencies neither.
There's going to be someone somewhere in that infinite loop who's going to break away and get people to use it.
And it's going to be a slow, painful process, but once the people start using crypto, the governments can either try to desperately stop it, or get so overwhelmed that they too start supporting crypto.
