     I guess there will never be because those are related to money or business. Any "alternatives" will eventually repeat the same things just as they did.
     
     Cryptos won't help too because the government can make it extremely hard to convert it to currency (which is used in real life instead of crypto). Hell even most of the crypto exchange platforms are cucked.

     For better or worse, I do believe that a crypto-based alternative is going to be the only way out, even if the government makes it as difficult as possible to turn it into worthless fiat, because when the US dollar collapses, it'll bring down all the other government currencies with it, and therefore the yen as well.
     Then having crypto is going to be seen as a viable alternative that's already available.

     For that reason, governments continue to hold a monopoly on currency.
     And because governments have a monopoly on currencies, merchants will never accept cryptocurrencies until the masses start using it en mass.
     Because the masses aren't using cryptocurrencies, merchants aren't going to switch to cryptocurrencies neither.
     
     There's going to be someone somewhere in that infinite loop who's going to break away and get people to use it.
     And it's going to be a slow, painful process, but once the people start using crypto, the governments can either try to desperately stop it, or get so overwhelmed that they too start supporting crypto.

     I don't even know if crypto can be trusted as currency (look even the most trustworthy Monero's site uses Cloudflare, probably safe for the wallet internals though?), it's very hard to have something that everyone from different countries can trust, and cryptos still rely on the Internet and ISP. I would say the concept of a international currency is already a wrong expectation, and pushing it as a full replacement of currency is by extension wrong.

     @ryo @Arty24 @udon Right now, we're at the stage where utility is very limited, and only people who are thinking ahead and are in a financial situation to be able to do so are stacking and trying to use where they can. Can't change other peoples' behavior, but I can prep for the possibility that the environment changes in my lifetime, and help others do the same.
     
     (For the record, there is a very roundabout way to use crypto for day-to-day shopping in Japan, but I don't want to post about it because I'm scared too much attention will get the loophole closed down).

     99% of the cryptoes aren't to be trusted, Monero is the only one that can be trusted simply because there's no single entity controlling it.
     
     Also, why is it by extension wrong to replace fiat currency with honest currency?

     Fiat currencies are kind of global already, just wrapped within the illusion of being minted by different countries.
     The world is basically 1 corporation, each government without exceptions are departments of that corporation.
     And some like in the case of the Eww, there are 27 departments within 1 departmnet, or with the USSA there's 50-ish departments within 1 department.

     Again I'm not talking about crypto or fiat which is better... If the root of problem is never realized then it is at best a less evil or at worst a fake solution. Just like the people's favorite left vs. right, communism vs. capitalism.
     
     If it's still hard to understand, I'll give more examples then. What determines ones power is not money since it's just a abstract representation and you can't create food or weapons from money. On the other hand, in the crypto system, the corpos can easily get mine the cryptos because they already own the resources and computing power more than others do (unless you're one of the elites?). Rather, it's wrong to assume there could be a global currency system because the ones that already hold the power can still affect the system just like how it is in fiat system. The only good thing about crypto like Monero is it's hard to track users, but other problems still exist.

     @JapanAnon @Arty24 @ryo Perhaps another way to circumvent this would be for a site to not sell things for money and instead only sell things for "[Site Name Here] Points". As a customer, you could buy a certain amount of points with fiat or crypto. You could then pay for things on the site with the points. Sellers who receive the points could then convert them back into money or perhaps the site could offer the seller some other form of compensation (amazon credit, credit towards a suica or pasmo card, etc.)
