@SuperDicq @snacks @lucy We have a 3000 km border with a country run by organized crime that specializes in smuggling contraband and according to most EU fans and a major political party here, controlling what goes in and out of said border would make us racist. You're deluding yourself if you think a ban would have more than a small impact in the US. We tried to ban alcohol in 1919, and as a consequence, made the mafia so rich and powerful that we had to spend the rest of the 20th century trying to get them under control.

Just like with public transportation, things are very different here. What works in a country with a more servile nature and extremely well-behaved neighbors like Germany won't necessarily work in the US.
