Women of Scandinavia were treated quite highly by the men of the Iron and Viking Age. They were allowed divorce in what would in modern era be called "fault" divorce, the husband was unable to perform husbandly duties, beat her, and in some cases took on another unapproved (note: which meant most of the time by the first wife) second wives. Women were called "Gold Sleighs" because they were to wear the silver and gold the men plundered or traded as a sign of status. They also had more locker room epithets like "ship-tits" for large breasted women. The idea that in the past all the "real" men of Scandinavia and Europe were fucking young teens on the regular and everyone was keeling over dead at age 50 simply doesn't hold up under any scrutiny. Did it happen? Sure, but it happens now in 3rd world countries, but it wasn't the norm among those of true status.
