Of course they're digital handcuffs, but if they're easy to shatter, they're better than to have hard to shatter ones that basically mean you don't have any freedom left.You have to use computers to destroy proprietary software, but running proprietary software for any reason other than getting rid of it reinforces it rather than destroys it, but even then, often the best way to destroy proprietary software is to never run it.You misunderstood what I meant, if you wanna convince normal people and have more free software you gotta bring people from the middle into it by understanding what are their digital needs and providing solutions.
