the 山 is a *very* stylised 亠 with a lot of space before the two strokes underneath. I suppose even a stylised 山 would have a more distinct join between strokes 2 and 3.
and what does yakitori have to do with puppet shows? or vice versa? I didn't think Ueno was known for bunraku.
