@sun have this very understandable excuse to source requests: "I stopped keeping track when I stopped believing that I could convince people by keeping track."
and warning: "I won't mind if you don't agree with me me, but I'll take it an insult if you refuse to accept that this is really what I believe after some consideration, and that I can't be dislodged from it by some very superficial attacks."

There's also an excuse to proselytizing peers: "the compulsion to go along with a consensus is reduced enormously when even one dissenter is encountered. I think I'm helping just by getting people to remember: oh, some people believe that, too."
