The storyboarding is honestly bad most of the time, the direction is not great, the world looks boring even though the compositing is technically solid.
The script is unimpressive so far. 6 episodes in, a month and a half, longer than a feature length film, and almost nothing has happened plot wise. This was also a problem with Toriyama's plot outlines for Dragon Ball Super. He doesn't give that much content for the story and the episode writers kind just have to pad it out with crap. Old Dragon Ball was slow too, but at least it dragged out tension. This isn't even tense, the characters are just wandering around like they're in the tutorial of an RPG.
