So using your own PDS, managing your data is easier/cheaper than on Mastodon, but it needs to be connected to the central AppView for others to see your content. (And running your own AppView would be expensive as it needs all data.) If BlueSky decided to ban your PDS from their AppView, you wouldn't lose your data, but you would be essentially screwed because most users (using the central AppView) couldn't reach you. Is that right?
