crazyeddie@randahl Not all operating systems are American. Linux, the kernel part, was originally developed by a Finn. He's now also American but back then he wasn't. Others in the kernel core group are European. It's a fairly worldwide effort really, but it has some significant European roots as well as American.
You also have complete control over it and can secure it independent of US influence and fiddling.
It's a great system too.
