Nothing scares me more than the fact, that European politicians have sleepwalked into the largest security problem in European history.

The entire European security architecture is based on the premise, that the US is lead by someone trustworthy.

The internet monitoring is run by the NSA. All operating systems are American. Most military equipment, the F-35's — even the EU nukes are made in the USA.

And now this entire security foundation is ultimately controlled by the gangster president.

@randahl Not all operating systems are American. Linux, the kernel part, was originally developed by a Finn. He's now also American but back then he wasn't. Others in the kernel core group are European. It's a fairly worldwide effort really, but it has some significant European roots as well as American.

You also have complete control over it and can secure it independent of US influence and fiddling.

      It's a great system too.

@randahl Linux is not. Worry more about the cloud operators.

@randahl Not all operating systems are American, though. If ever, now is the time to begin migrating away from tech that is controlled by tyrants to open source alternatives.

It’s not just Trump. It is a plutocratic take over.

Project 2025 will replace US civil servants with loyalists to a small set of billionaires.

The result is a conversion to kleptocracy that will outlast any presidency. The EU is dealing with an entirely new kind of entity in the US. The US as plutocracy.

This is a permanent transformation. A permanent loss of professionalism and competence.

@randahl if you think anything other than this would have been permitted by the US and its capital you are woefully naive
