Not being critical or telling you what to do, but don't you think you're kind of saying, "The perfect solution is not ready yet, so I'm going to stick with what's (ethically) the bloody worst one, because it's convenient?"

Ok, that sounded really critical. I'm just trying to poke your thinking process, but again, I totally understand you have MANY variables to consider, and this isn't something to leap into without circumspection.
