- Embed this notice@dictatordave @BowsacNoodle Some dogs respond well to beating and some don't. Pibbles probably do, temperament-wise, but there's also their instinct to grab throats and hold on unto death, EVEN IF YOU BEAT THEM. That is why you don't have pibbles. This instinct is in their genes.
Dogs with a more independent temperament will not respect you if you beat them. They will just think you're crazy and untrustworthy. You have to earn their respect by first respecting them and showing you want to work together. Then they have to believe your ideas are better than theirs. This is the kind of dogs I have (Anatolians and Akbashes).
