Not only will they hit you with a five or six digit fine that you have to pay, in full (no negotiation) but every time you apply or reapply for hospital privileges they specifically ask you "have you lost the ability to take Medicare/Medicaid at any point in your career?". It's like a dishonorable discharge for medical professionals.
