Yes - while I'm generally against all the refugee resettlement and asylum seekers here in the USA, the one reason I would absolutely grant asylum for is if the family wanted to homeschool their children and needed to escape an oppressive country in which it was outlawed.
Like so many things today, the NPC crowd has no idea why it's hostile to the "wrong thing" but it will absolutely hate it and those who support it with all its might. Abortion, homeschooling, free speech..etc.
