I get that with enough copium random users can tolerate it somewhat but I just don't see it getting traction in a school/corporate/enthusiast setting, mere terminals like BBS got obsolete for a good reason.
And probably why they started going back to somewhat desktop-like systems with introducing ChromeOS laptops and Surface tablets. Plus why even cheap macbooks are still strongly there while I feel like I'm seeing iPads less and less in the wild (I wonder if Apple reports amount of sold devices).
