Also, they are heavy into engineering. And bundle 3dsmax with those tools. And sells others separate etc. And in heavy engineering firms "standards" are set, and hard to move away from.. But it's often used in combination (at least for me).
I work in the oil industry and use inventor, 3dsmax every single day for the last 19 years.. But I squeeze in blender where I can, and use it for all personal projects.
