@meeper @lanodan Fediverse active users is going down and BlueSky is sucking all the enthusiasm out of the room for itself. BlueSky's decentralization is a giant sham but the way it's built is better for people that want strong moderation, Fedi is just architecturally NEVER going to be good at that. I wonder if in a few years we'll be back to 2016 levels of use. Honestly that might make it tolerable again for me. Nothing sufficiently decentralized is really on the horizon to replace Fedi because of the inherent problems. You could solve a ton of problems by replacing ActivityPub with something else but a bunch of problems are just baked into decentralization and normies are never going to want to come here.
