I don't expect games consoles to be supercomputers, but I do think for a $700 console in 2024 4K@60 is what you should be striving for. I think there's a certain challenge but reward that comes from developers pushing hardware to its limits with consoles, in a way that makes them feel justified in buying a machine that costs them weeks worth of wages. Its quite admirable to watch games at the tail end of console life cycles maximise a piece of hardware's potential and optimise it to run well on something outdated.
