Whether they like it or not, religion is in it's roots is a spoken tradition of survival that carried us over the ages and changed with us as much as we changed with it. In time it grew and institutionalized itself and continues to be a mechanism of social survival.
Spare some larger schisms reflecting mostly probably actual baseline human traits that fit some groups more, it's retarded to bicker or in this case conjure new ones or perform necromancy on the old ones.
