The staff didn't force a coup or anything, this studio was founded in 2018 in Washington to develop concord and nothing else, and sony acquired them in 2023, at which point the game would've already been almost entirely done and sony wouldn't have needed to interfere. It's very likely that they never had a lineup of "competent employees" considering this game took them 5-6 years of development and is still a mostly unfinished live service nightmare.
