Capital will flow to any established enterprise, no matter how dysfunctional it is. Capital will starve or subvert any upstart firm could challenge the dominance of the incumbents. Commodified housing means hardly anyone can just leave the labor market, and labor is so thoroughly tamed that tech cos spent the last year literally decimating their workforces with no push back.
