Not that celibate priests can't be skilled counselors, especially the ones who've seen some real stuff over the years, but my spiritual father has an earthly family and has experienced similar challenges to my own on a firsthand basis. I'd ultimately trust either over secular council of course, but getting parenting advice from a guy who's never had his kids can sometimes be hard to take.
