I don't even disagree with your assessment, but history has shown that you cannot compromise or give an inch to "libtards" without them demanding a mile. Trump's stated opinion of making it a state issue is actually the traditional "conservative" mindset, but the practical effects are exactly as was mentioned by you and others ITT— consolidated shitlib power. It's frustrating to watch and it's one of the factors that made me get off the GOP train.
