It's easy (and normal) to get amped up to defend your homeland even if you hate your overlord. Ukraine hadn't been through what "America" already has where if we were (militarily) invaded, I am not sure how much of it would actually care anymore.

And the puppet government and ZOG have been cynically using that natural instinct ever since, to the point they're drafting young women and old men to fight...

The stated goal, as U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin blurted out loud, was to hurt Russia. Has it even accomplished that? It doesn't appear to have done so.
