@sun @triodug @clacke I really don't think "homosexuality" as a concept makes sense for anything before... like... 1900 (maybe 1850 if you're really stretching it). Same sex attraction and relationships definitely existed before that date but the prevailing norms thru which it was understood and also thru which friendship was understood were totally alien to any modern notions of gender or sexuality as they currently exist.
