@autolycos -- Wow... You need major retraining or you forgot all of your training.
A chest wound in or near a lung CANNOT be packed. Your patient would not be able to breathe, and depending on where in the chest, may even impinge on heart function.
You can ONLY pack a wound that has muscle around it. Lungs and other organs are very squishy and cannot be packed in that manner, hence the chest seals.
If you really ARE a medical provider, you are jeopardizing your license with your original comment
