Kitsune Zero was especially fun that way. it's a story where the hero is this amiable but socially awkward nerd who helps save the kingdom and gets the girl, and in the epilogue the two get married and have a kid.

They hate it *SO* much, because. he's also the game's "princess peach", gets kidnapped, and Yumi (the main/playable character) has to rescue him.

It got almost as much hate from them as Super Bernie World did, despite far less people playing it
