I turn it up so I can hear the dialogue and I always find it confusing that they aren't having trouble understanding what is going on. Turns out the truth is they simply don't care what is going on. Pause the movie and ask them the plot, they will just stare at you blankly. I have a suspicion this might be the case with all women.
