You give legitimacy to a King by having him crowned by the pope or by a Bishop or higher.

You give legitimacy to the Church by having a king there "under god"

Which is the same language used for America - but a politician's life doesn't count on it - so it is ignored and lends nothing to the legitimacy of the church.
