Phil in SFI used Gphotos and have never heard of this feature. Google has a lot of these out of the way things that are just not part of a coherent strategy. I envy them for their freedom to try out a lot of stuff and see what sticks. Sucks when they drop some of them though, if I happen to be someone who incorporated the feature into what I use.
