Talking to Jesus, and listen to Him reply, is the only real requirement.

When it says, knowing Jesus is eternal life, it is in a similar since, to a man and wife knowing each other. It is not a shallow relationship. It is a deep understanding and friendship that Jesus wants to have.

And the only way to get that, is by talking with Him. You don't have to figure out how to be better friends, or trust Him more, or anything like that, you let Him worry about that, just talk with Him, about what ever you want.
