@splitshockvirus not knowing the difference in price between 2.5 and 10 gigabit interfaces myself, one clear answer I can give you is that in a select few parts of the world some people are able to get FTTH speeds above 1Gbps but well below 5Gbps, so the manufacturers are focusing on 2.5Gbps interfaces and calling it a day.
