I don't use my domain just for email, but even if I did, it would be totally worth it with Fastmail. Once you've got it configured, you can receive emails sent to (absolutely.anything)@(whatever.you.like).your.domain and then set up filters to label and organise incoming emails.

Sign up for newsletters with newsletters@your.domain, have "throwaway" emails like bob@spam.your.domain... The possibilities are endless!
