In the case of Saudi Arabia, (OPEC) it's escaped world attention as of the date at which S.A. started pumping water into their oil wells to bring their sweet crude to the pumps.

OPEC producing nations have invested heavily in Solar Technologies. That should be a wake-up, when oil rich countries see a waning of affordable Fossil Energy, & position themselves to shift to sun energy for water.

Gaza is very dependent on Desalination, & is very energy intensive.
