@lucy @icedquinn @evelyn similar to the way every american is soft on rich people bullshit because they think they'll be rich some day too, they think that the problems with America are small and temporary and that the general thrust of America is toward freedom. But everywhere you go people use the law to harass you.

I had someone from Saudi Arabia once unironically say that SA was more free than America because you can park your car anywhere and camp as long as you like, but in America the cops show up and threaten you. Like, I am not convinced that SA is freer than the USA, but he has a point.
