Back in January (I think, I'm bad with dates) when BridgyFed was just announced, people REAMED Ryan for using the words "opt-out". Which is obviously how the platform is designed from the core up. He was blocked, defederated, insulted, threatened. It was ridiculous.
Therefore, he made it so that you have to follow a bot before your account is able to be seen cross-platform, effectively killing the feature, because if you have to teach someone a lesson before you "sell" them on a project, you've already lost. It's going to lose if this continues because nobody who doesn't already know about it, will turn it on.
Dead in the water for the actual use of the project, basically. I don't need to follow my Fedi friends' BlueSky accounts, i need to follow BlueSky accounts that AREN'T on Fedi...🤦♂️
