@wolf480pl @icedquinn two reasons mostly:

1. because EU elections are a joke and used as a way of dumping scandal-ridden or incompetent but nevertheless influential politicians away from the local political scene - where they would be visible and damage national party's reputation
2. because it's just illusory democracy where you elect someone but they still are in a EU-wide massive party, and follow their orders (which are a result of shady deals and agreements)
