Today where I live in Nanaimo BC, average income is 40,000 - average house price is 640,000 so 16x salary. Average down payment is 1.5x salary. I do not get how any new buyer can survive.Banks are just giving longer & longer mortgages squeezing more interest and making fortunes for the rich. Time to buy pitchforks, I guess.
