I am good at getting first dates but if there's not compatibility it doesn't last so I don't get a lot of third dates. I know I'm a weirdo. Some girls find it endearing, even attractive but most don't. Finding the right person is hard because everyone is at least partially guarded. To a large extent it's a numbers game. What really sucks about this is you might get called a creep when you're not one. I experienced this recently, I went on a bunch of dates and one girl the second date really didn't go well. another girl was really attracted to me, it didn't work out for other reasons though. in the end if I was creepy or attractive was which girl you asked.
