@freemo This seems to be derived based on a misunderstanding of data and how the drug works when used in the #Ozempic form and not the compounded #semaglutide form.
Ozempic doesn’t just squirt a concentration of GLP-1 RA into you that is just there for your body to use whenever. It uses technology derived from what we’ve learned about long acting “basal” insulin (once daily rather than mealtime) that causes it to essentially crystalize and slowly dissolve and release the drug over the week time. It’s not a perfect system, but it overlaps well enough that available drug is a bit sinusoidal over the weeks of use.
If you think it’s better to take a daily dose, check out #Victoza / #liraglutide. It’s made by the same company (Novo Nordisk) but is once daily instead of weekly.
It’s not really a good idea to try to modify the dosing from the guidelines. It’s worth noting US poison control has had a pretty sharp increase in the last couple of years of Ozempic poisoning calls from people trying to manage the dose on their own.
