clacke@Jes DP++ ports are able to switch to sending an HDMI signal over the DP pins, but HDMI and DP signals are entirely different in nature on both the logical and the electrical level.
HDMI can be viewed as "digital VGA" whereas DP is a packet protocol for media and data streams.
