@nyx @eris @astronema my city (which is a different city) is basically the exact same as this. every trans femme, white or not, has been pretty much in poverty or at the very least relying on a wealthier cis partner or middling supportive parents as age mid 20s somethings to 30s somethings to eat and be housed. straight up have been friends with trans femmes from other parts of the country who were homeless at one point and are still teetering on the brink of going back to that state on a constant basis. I was legally homeless myself for a year hiding out in my polycule's decrepit studio apartment until a cis friend was able to help us out. of all the trans femmes I have ever met personally in my life, I have met one that actually had her own money and that was a trust fund so that might not even count.
