That's the same as asking how realistic does a FPS have to emulate mass murder? Or warfare? Does playing something like COD or MW indicate your desires to run around competitively killing people?

Would flying a boeing 737 into the twin towers on a DOS-based 2d flight sim be ok verses MS Flight Simulator 2024 being outright banned for realism?

I think it all comes down to how far society is willing to accept fantasy replacements for actual behaviors; the more realistic the replacement, more adverse a normally functioning society would be to it.
