    So I'm getting a bit desperate to learn Mandarin because my copy of the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon pentalogy is begging to be read, and because I'm too ambitious for my own good 🫣 Any recommendations, resources, tips, for a beginner? I don't want to have to resort to Duolingo with their AI rubbish, but I'm very short on money, which is an automatic hamstring when it comes to getting an education, I know 🙃
