I agree with most thinks. Another point is that the lead developer and GNU/FSF don't really like each other. Libreboot was for some time a GNU project, then the lead developer quit that agreement, had some politically charged discussions, applied for it to be a part of GNU again after some time and never got back in. There was a whole blog post about it on the Libreboot website and maybe still is, if it survived the redesign.
