@birdulon @Boomerman @Shadowman311 @sickburnbro I've thought about trying those ports out. I just assumed the magnetic stuff is charging only, since thunderbolt speeds need all those pins free and clear.

While I generally like type C, in laptops and tablets it seems awfully exposed and there just isn't much you can do to mitigate flex and bending at the port if you're in non-standard positions.
