When I think about people like my wife or my step-father, both people who have the potential ability to blog, and read other people's blogs, neither would have any clue about the Substack drama and would only have a vague notion of what Substack is.
It's so easy to imagine them deciding to blog, googling for blogging platforms, and landing on Substack, as you say, completely oblivious.
